MHA, the UK member firm of Baker Tilly International, has relocated its 75 Birmingham staff to a new office in the city's professional district. The accountancy and advisory firm now occupies the entire 7,100 square foot ground floor of 35 Newhall Street, a Grade A office that has recently undergone significant renovation to maximise wellness and sustainability.

The Business Desk reported that MHA agreed a 10-year lease on the office in late 2025 and has worked with office interior specialist Claremont to create a modern space focused on culture and collaboration.

MHA has grown its team in the Midlands significantly in recent years, now employing 10 Midlands partners. Recent appointments include Audit and Assurance Partner Steve Hale, who joined in June last year, and John Bryant, who joined in August last year as partner to lead a new dedicated corporate finance team in Birmingham.

Chris Barlow, chief operating officer of MHA's Midlands region and partner, said: "We're committed to further sustainable growth in Birmingham and across the Midlands over the coming years. Therefore, we must continue to invest in attracting and retaining the best experts in the region."

He added: "Our new office matches our ambitions and will allow us to do this. It's designed to maximise wellness and collaboration, promoting quality engagements between our colleagues. It's also been created with sustainability in mind, which aligns with our commitment to make a lasting, positive impact on the communities we operate."

The building at 35 Newhall Street targets Net Zero Carbon in operation as well as EPC A and BREEAM Excellent ratings. Features include a living garden wall, solar PV panels to generate electricity, EV chargers, and sustainably sourced renovation materials.
