HLB Ireland has appointed Jack Sheehan as a partner in its audit and assurance practice, as the Dublin-based accountancy firm continues to expand its leadership team following a period of acquisition-led growth.
Business Plus reported that Sheehan joined HLB in December 2024 as an audit director and was appointed technology sector lead in early 2025, playing a key role in strengthening the firm's focus on that high-growth area. He works with owner-managed businesses, domestic companies, and multinationals, with a particular focus on technology and scaling businesses.
The appointment follows HLB Ireland's acquisition earlier in the week of Leahy O'Riordan Chartered Accountants, a long-established practice based in north Dublin.
Mark Butler, managing partner at HLB Ireland, said: "Jack's appointment to Partner reflects both his contribution since joining the firm and our continued focus on growth, developing our people, and strengthening our leadership team. As we continue to expand, promotions like this are critical to supporting that growth and delivering for our clients."
Sheehan said: "I am delighted to be appointed Partner at HLB Ireland. I've had the opportunity to work with a strong team and a diverse client base since joining, and I look forward to continuing to support our clients and contribute to the firm's growth, and indeed taking a hands-on relationship led approach to all engagements."
HLB Ireland, formerly known as HLB Sheehan Quinn, is an independent professional accounting firm established in 1976 and specialising in services for entrepreneurial and owner-managed businesses across audit and assurance, taxation, corporate finance, and business advisory.
The firm's recent acquisition activity and internal promotions point to a broader consolidation push within the Irish mid-market accountancy sector.
