BDO Northern Ireland, the accountancy and business advisory firm, has presented £20,000 (€23,100) to Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, marking the successful conclusion of a two-year charity corporate partnership. The total was raised through staff-led fundraising events, initiatives, and challenges, hitting the firm's target set in 2024.

Business Eye reported that all funds raised will support the charity's lifesaving Helicopter Emergency Medical Service.

Ciara Hughes, HR manager at BDO NI, said: "We are incredibly proud of the funds and awareness this brilliant partnership has generated over the past two years. Our people embraced every challenge with real enthusiasm, from skydives and fire walks to marathon teams, runway runs and seasonal office fundraisers."

She added: "Our Tax Partner, Lorraine Nelson, participated in a challenging 'rowathon' for the cause, rowing the equivalent distance of crossing the English Channel more than four times in a month! The high level of engagement demonstrated by the entire firm really highlighted our commitment to supporting the community and upholding our core values."

Hughes noted that having seen the skill and specialist nature of Air Ambulance Northern Ireland's work, the firm was thrilled to have supported their operations in a meaningful way.

Colleen Milligan, business development manager at Air Ambulance Northern Ireland, said: "The incredible support from the team at BDO Northern Ireland over the past two years has helped fund almost three days of our Air Ambulance service, enabling us to deliver critical care to patients when every second counts. Their enthusiasm, generosity and commitment to fundraising have played a meaningful role in helping us bring hospital-level care directly to people at the scene of serious incidents."
